they just need to take this to the federal level nd make everyone abde by this…because its a serious issue being caused by Us Americans and we need to correct that.
I support ethical business practices and vertically integrating supply chain, moving manufacturing to America etc etc etc but American consumers are not ready for the price increase nor is our economy ready to pull manufacturing over here. We see it in every industry. Not just fashion. Medical device, aeronautical, automobile, agriculture, the list goes on. There’s much work to do here other than lobbying for change that we aren’t ready for yet.
Sustain these nuts on your chin.
Cool, I guess. I don't have the luxury to support ethical clothing manufacturers since I'm 6'6" tall and I'm not a skinny twig, nor am I a balloon, nor do I make more than $30k/year. The best underwear I've found that fits me can only be found in China from an independent tailor, I have to buy pants that are 4-8 sizes larger than my waist (and even then it's a crap-shoot; Levi's can kiss my ass), and I regularly buy XXXL T-shirts that are <just> tall enough to not expose my mid-riff, unless I raise my arms. I am an adult wearing kid's clothing….please fix this, children.
To be fair, any of these gigantic companies should not be able to fully self-govern themselves. You dont get that huge without exploitation in one way or the other, monopoly laws are not being enforced either so.. yah.. make that dollar.
Shame on
Fook the fashion industry! I don't give a sheet about these wannabe hollywood models who don't care any less about people who are suffering.
The fashion industry can do one!
keep buying and investing in stocks or crypto, soon Bitcoin will hit $100,000
I don’t care
Always show correct map of countries
fashion industry sure will raise their prices
Pass it!
Has she met with AOC? She should meet with AOC
I'm all for it. There's no reason for the average person to go through 10-12 wears of their clothes before they throw it out, statistically speaking. That's about 5 outfits a year that's going to waste just from a single person.
2022(G) “Respect and dignity.” Furthermore:
Imagine any capitalistic government regulating the private sector. Give me a break.
Thrifting also helps, peace
Want to do your part to save the planet? Quit buying so much stuff you don't need. Seriously.
lol this bill is 1/80th what it should be but keep pretending
Totally hysterical bullshit!
So… now clothes would cost more…
Time to go nude people.
How about the effect of end users…. they just donate or toss the used clothes….
How much pollution caused to the environment…. I am sure it is over 10%
Fast Fashion is the worst offender, it needs to die, the high fashion industry can still exist even with this act or even stricter environmental laws.
There is NO WAY for a company to provide tracking throughout their whole process. I'm working right now, and the herculean EFFORT on workers like myself on the admin side would be ridiculous. I help with a covid vaccine, and I get stupid questions like "How can you guarantee 100% accuracy" or "Your test was made in China?" Everything you need is in the package insert. Read and use. People like me shouldn't have to spend weeks and many hours just to answer stupid questions.
New York just wants extra money as always. You can't fine one company and NOT the whole list of companies along the line, but then not all are within the US, so therefore, the law doesn't apply. This will fall after first few court cases
It’s about damn time just a bill like this is created. Let’s just hope republicans in New York will back this up. And I hope that this type of bill will get created at the federal level, and not jus the state level; but ya gotta start somewhere, I guess!

This won’t pass
Must love a wool sweater
