This is so sad, this is why I don't consume and buy clothes as much anymore, I'm finding out where it could go and end up it's sad, I only buy time to time, take care of what I have, and donate and give when I can. And sew up what I can save. This is awful 😭😭😭
The wests use and throw policy.
Baju dibuang bisa dijual buat ketrampilan sarung bantal tas keset
Wondering if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints sends leftovers to you…
Chile is purchasing all of this stuff…why or for what I do not know but the only reason this dump is here is because the people who bought it(in Chile) discarded it..
Thinking that the fascists they call them self democrats wasted billions of dollars to build a new telescop not far from that dump makes your blood boil
What the point of burning it ?
Although sad and incredible. There will always be something to conquer, whether it be ozone, refrigerant reclamation, fossil fuels. Whats to say all the efforts in the USA go for naught. If the
same effort isn't worldwide it is. Just a viscious cycle that unfortunately cannot be won. Our planet is victim to humans, here to be consumed/dedtroyed by default.
So why not create laws to prohibit the world from
Dumping here?
Send it to Africa
It's a shame this stuff can't be sorted. And made into something else.
Textile waste is very hard to recycle unless it is for example good quality 100 % cotton, which most clothes are not. It is horrible that countries in Europe and Asia, America just dumb their problems to other countries. Also, the companies that own brands like H&M etc. should be responsible for the textile's whole life cycle. And of course, people too should stop buying what they don't need and repairing their old clothes so they can last a long time. So everyone who can should do something about this problem. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
Thank you for this information, and I will reduce purchasing clothes to reduce harm to the environment
There is a huge need for biodegradable /sustainable clothing
Why the chilean goverment aloud that to happen? Each country should deal in its own way with his rubbish!
Need to build a recycle plant to turn it all into new clothes that people WANT, and not throw away.
Buy quality clothes even though expensive and keep for decades not throwing away often. And fashion of those clothes has to be somewhat timeless. Ppl should stop buying stupid fashion.
I have a best friend from Chile she or he looked to me like his or best friend and I appreciate everything she or he did for me ❤
The Atacama is so dry that it's difficult even for bacteria to survive there. How could the clothes biodegrade there if there is no "bio" to degrade it?! 🤔🧐
Do for homeless people who can't buy this thing .. Homeless people not only one county there's world wide
One more reason to hate the kind of people that says "thats so last year" or whatever, i just dont get it, i use my clothes until they have holes and even sometimes i ask my mother if she can fix it (i cant sew for the life of me) this leave me with more money to spare on things i consider more important, like having dinner outside with my family, we have priorities wrong.
And you wondered where the thrift shops get all their clothes. You should really tell your children.
