Big retailers like Saks and Nordstrom are helpful to get a wide look at all the current brands in one place. But you are right, all these brands have an opportunity to invest in their own controlled experiences for customers adding more value to the clothes.
Uniqlo is usually a brand I like but I’m almost always disappointed by materials and performance when I’m running around the city. Then again I don’t think they have “street photographers” in mind when designing clothes. I will say that the crossbody sling with the long tie ends is one of my most used and worn pieces by them.
Every time my guy says “tone Deaf“, take a shot
Nike is set to flop more with this, and will further keep people away from the brand, True Yoga people know about non cancerous, quality, materials for yoga clothing, and they have principles and are against shit like Kim Kardashian and her Racist culture vulture family, Kim stole over 120k from Brandy's and Ray J's mother's credit card, and was about to go to prison
Nike is slow, they been doing fake hypes to get them attention for their shoes again, and skims have a 0 out of 150 on the Fashion Accountability report, it also did worse than Shein with cancerous materials, and bad work environment, and the Kardashians and Jenners been called out by Forbes and others for hyping their products in the past saying it's worth billions than really flopping, and the Skims and North face collaboration flopped

Uh, the Saks/Matchesfashion bit! Just was on your video “How Fashion Week Makes Designers Go Bankrupt” and you were talking about ridiculous store deals a year ago.
Brands seemed to be loudly boasting about direct-to-consumer over wholesale in their financial reports. I think business-savvy young designers who can get some Instagram traction are already of the same mindset; verticalisation of brands has increased, as the article says.
I guess what Westwood was doing back in the day was considered punk, and now it’s just good sense for many, especially with the fall of brick-and-mortar.
The quotes are great because they reveal how power dynamics and coercion even in business work—the rich people don’t pay their bills on time thing. HBC is a very important Canadian company, by the way; the colonization of Canada is pretty much founded on them.
